The Balearic Islands join the LOT network – direct flights to Mallorca now available

  • LOT Polish Airlines has added a new destination to its network, with direct flights to sunny Mallorca now on sale.
  • Direct flights from Warsaw Chopin Airport will operate three times a week during the summer 2026 season, starting on 30 May 2026.
  • Mallorca, one of the Mediterranean’s most stunning islands, is known for its idyllic beaches, turquoise bays, dramatic mountain landscapes and fragrant citrus groves.
LOT Polish Airlines continues to expand its route network, focusing on destinations with strong tourism appeal. The latest addition, launching in May 2026, is Mallorca – a long-time favourite among Polish holidaymakers that will soon be even easier to reach thanks to new direct flights from Warsaw Chopin Airport.
The seasonal service to Palma de Mallorca will operate three times a week: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Flights will depart Warsaw at 11:35 (LO447), with return flights from Palma de Mallorca scheduled for 15:50 (LO448). To provide the highest level of comfort, the route will be served by the modern Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. The journey is expected to take around 3 hours and 10 minutes.

Mallorca continues to captivate those seeking exceptional holidays. It charms with its turquoise coves, unspoilt natural beauty, varied landscapes and historical landmarks that reflect its rich heritage. Thanks to LOT’s new connection, the island will become even more accessible to travellers from Poland during the summer season. It also gives them greater flexibility in planning – allowing freedom to choose travel dates and trip lengths that best suit their needs. This new route is a natural addition to our range of destinations with strong tourist appeal. We invite everyone to start planning their summer holidays with LOT Polish Airlines.

Where nature works wonders

Mallorca is best known for its remarkable beaches – the very definition of a dream island escape. Turquoise coves stretching into the horizon, soft golden sands and crystal-clear waters combine to create unforgettable coastal scenery. Visitors can choose between well-equipped beaches such as Playa de Muro and Alcúdia, or seek out secluded gems tucked among cliffs, including Cala Varques, Cala Mondragó and Es Trenc. This diversity is a key reason why Mallorca remains one of Europe’s most sought-after holiday destinations.
Yet the ‘Pearl of the Balearic Islands’ is far more than just a heaven for beach lovers. The Serra de Tramuntana mountains – designated a UNESCO World Heritage site – offer spectacular hiking routes and some of the most scenic cycling trails in Europe. Particularly charming are those in the north of the island, winding through gorges and wild, breathtaking nature that provides a picturesque backdrop for cycling adventures, attracting riders from all over the world.
Inland, the island reveals another facet of its charm – the fragrant orange groves of the Sóller Valley, best reached via a scenic journey on a historic train from Palma. Deep underground, the Cuevas del Drach (Dragon Caves) invite exploration of a mesmerising world of stalactites, stalagmites and Lake Martel – where classical music concerts are staged with a captivating light display.

From empires to pirates – the island’s story through time

Set in the heart of the Mediterranean, Mallorca has long captured the interest of conquerors and visionaries. From Romans and Moors to Aragonese royalty, each civilisation has left its mark, shaping a rich and layered history that continues to intrigue visitors today. Among the island’s most iconic landmarks are the majestic La Seu Cathedral in Palma, the Moorish-era Banys Àrabs (Arab Baths), the Bellver Castle and the ruins of Pollentia. Countless hilltop sanctuaries also offer breathtaking panoramic views.
Equally fascinating are the medieval towns, such as Alcúdia and Capdepera, as well as the traditional fincas – stone estates that were once self-sustaining farms, complete with vineyards, olive presses, and gardens, now lovingly restored as boutique hotels or family residences.
Mallorca is also steeped in traces of a wilder past. For centuries, it was the target of pirate raids – coastal watchtowers, hidden caves, and fortified settlements still stand as silent witnesses to those tumultuous times. For culture lovers, Valldemossa is a must – this mountain village was where Frédéric Chopin spent several winter months composing.
