 Los Angeles takes the Olympic baton, prepares for 2028

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass accepted the Olympic flag with assists from Tom Cruise and gymnast Simone Biles at the end of the Paris Olympics as Los Angeles prepares to host the games in 2028, planning to take advantage of its beaches and existing sports facilities while adding a train line. "As we've seen here in Paris, the Olympics are an opportunity to make transformative change," Bass said.

JFK Airport offers reservation times for security screening

New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport has become the seventh airport to implement Clear Secure's virtual queue program allowing passengers to reserve time slots for security screening at Terminal 4. JFK T4 Reserve powered by Clear will need to be made at least 72 hours before departure.

Canada rescue plan targets hospitality, dining, travel

The Canadian government will provide wage and rent subsidies of up to 75% to hotels, travel agencies, tour operators and restaurants under a pandemic recovery program announced last week. Eligibility requires monthly revenue losses of 40% over 12 months of the pandemic as well as the current month.

Dominique Ansel to debut online ordering for Cronuts

Dominique Ansel Bakery recently launched online ordering, and the New York City pastry shop will start offering nationwide shipping in December for its Christmas Morning Cereal and popular Cronut pastries. "When Covid hit, I felt that the stigma on getting food shipped was erased and people were much more open to it, as well as more understanding of the higher costs that come with overnight shipping," Ansel said.
