142 days, 51 ports, five continents: AIDAmar to embark on a world cruise in 2028

A journey around the world—from the shores of the Baltic Sea to the South Pacific: on November 3, 2028, the AIDAmar will set sail on a 142-day cruise around the globe. This marks the first time an AIDA world cruise has departed from Warnemünde. The itinerary includes 51 ports across 19 countries on five continents. Over the course of the voyage, the ship will cross the equator twice and the International Date Line once.

South America and the South Pacific

The route connects major metropolises, island archipelagos, and some of the most striking landscapes in the Southern Hemisphere. Highlights include Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires, Tierra del Fuego, the passage around Cape Horn, and the fjords and glaciers of Patagonia. From there, the *AIDAmar* sets a course for Easter Island and the South Pacific. Guests will spend Christmas in French Polynesia, and for the turn of the year, the *AIDAmar* will be in Suva, Fiji.

An In-Depth Experience of New Zealand and Australia

In New Zealand, guests will explore both the North and South Islands on a single voyage. The itinerary includes stops in Auckland, Napier, Wellington, and Picton, among others. Scenic highlights feature the passage through the Marlborough Sounds and the fjord landscapes of Milford Sound. In total, the voyage includes six ports of call in New Zealand.

With eleven ports, this route offers more Australian destinations than any previous AIDA voyage. The program includes stops in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns, and Geraldton, among others. In doing so, the *AIDAmar* circumnavigates nearly the entire continent, linking major cities, tropical coastlines, and the vast, open landscapes of Western Australia.

Twelve Extended Stays Along the Route

Twelve overnight stays provide guests with extra time to explore select destinations in greater depth. These include Rio de Janeiro, San Antonio (near Santiago de Chile), Papeete (Tahiti), and Suva (Fiji). In Australia, the *AIDAmar* will remain overnight in Sydney, Darwin, Broome, and Perth/Fremantle. Additional extended stays are scheduled for Port Louis (Mauritius), Gqeberha, Cape Town, and Walvis Bay.

Returning to Europe via the Indian Ocean and Africa

After circumnavigating Australia, the voyage continues across the Indian Ocean to Mauritius and La Réunion. In South Africa and Namibia, extended port stays offer opportunities for safaris, desert experiences, and excursions around Table Mountain. Another highlight is the circumnavigation of the Cape of Good Hope. From there, the AIDAmar will set a course back toward Europe, with a stop in the Cape Verde Islands.
