Four Seasons Resort Hualalai is excited to host an exclusive book signing event with renowned international author Kevin Kwan to celebrate the launch of his latest novel, “Lies and Weddings.” This event will provide fans with a rare chance to meet the celebrated writer of the Crazy Rich Asians series in a luxurious setting that inspired parts of his new book.
“Lies and Weddings,” Kwan’s latest novel, promises to be just as captivating and entertaining as his previous works. The book, partially written during his stay at Four Seasons Resort Hualalai, unfolds a tale of a forbidden romance amidst a lavish tropical wedding, presenting a vibrant and humorous exploration of societal norms.
“During a terrible bout of writer’s block in 2021, I was invited to visit friends in Puako for New Year’s. A few days into my visit, in a burst of creative inspiration I began writing a new novel, which eventually became Lies and Weddings,” Kwan says. “The people of Hawai’i and the island itself offered me a place of beauty, healing and inspiration for which I am very grateful. So many wondrous places on the island, including Four Seasons Resort Hualalai, became the settings where characters in my novel have experiences that change the course of their lives.”

Details: The event will feature a live interview with Kevin Kwan, followed by a book signing session where attendees can have their copies of “Lies and Weddings” personally dedicated and signed by the author. Guests will also get to sample the exclusive Lies and Weddings cocktail, which will be available for purchase throughout the resort for a limited time. Entry requires the purchase of “Lies and Weddings” (one book per person), available for sale at the event.
