Gulf Air - the Kingdom of Bahrain’s national carrier – in line with its boutique strategy to add leisure destinations to its delicate crafted network, has revealed a new addition to its 2020 network with a popular business and leisure destination: Kuala Lumpur, the largest city and the capital of Malaysia.
Commencing from July 2020, Gulf Air will fly daily to Kuala Lumpur and operated by its flagship Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
“This is very exciting for us at Gulf Air to reach further places and connect multiple cities in the East and the West to our hub, the Kingdom of Bahrain,” stated Mr. Krešimir Kučko, Gulf Air’s Chief Executive Officer, on this expansion and route announcement. “We are glad to resume operations to Kuala Lumpur; a destination known for its leisure and business appeal. We will be operating daily flights to the Malaysian capital as it has proven to be an extremely popular destination to our passengers.”
The airline’s network is expanding tactically and rapidly to strengthen the current reach by adding feeder cities to balance traffic from the east and west of the Kingdom. Complimented by a new fleet, Gulf Air’s long haul routes are being exclusively served by the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. With its boutique business model that was announced earlier this year, Gulf Air has started its fleet modernization program and has already received 7 new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and 5 new Airbus 320neo.
