Hundreds of Thai locals and tourist were left stranded in the Suvarnabhumi Airport due to temporary flight cancellation to Europe. The political tension between India and Pakistan saw a plane shot down this week.
One flight that was already taken off was forced to turn back as the airline’s flights to and from Europe pass over Indian and Pakistan air space.
As per the officials the next scheduled flight to London was about to leave just after midnight but was rescheduled. There were further flight cancellation to and from Frankfurt, Paris, Oslo, Milan, Zurich and Copenhagen.
Thai Airways president Sumeth Damrongchaitham stated that an urgent meeting had been called to reschedule the flights.
So far, Thai Airways is known to serve 13 cities in Europe that includes Vienna in Austria, Brussels in Belgium, Copenhagen in Denmark, Paris Charles de Gaulle in France, Frankfurt and Munich in Germany, Rome and Milan in Italy, Oslo in Norway, Moscow in Russia, Stockholm in Sweden, Zurich in Switzerland and London in the United Kingdom.
