Inaugural Leaders’ Summit to unite tourist boards at WTM London 2026

This will be a landmark year for top level gatherings at WTM London, part of the RX Global portfolio. Just as the prestigious Ministers’ Summit marks its 20th anniversary, the show will debut a new Leaders’ Summit for national tourism boards.

The inaugural WTM Leaders’ Summit will take place from 13.00 on Tuesday 3 November, with a series of themed sessions following a working lunch in Maritime Suite, George V Room 1.

The invite-only event has been designed for heads of national tourism offices and other senior industry leaders to come together, explore shared challenges and discover examples of best practice.

At the close of the networking lunch, WTM London’s Event Director, Chris Carter-Chapman, will formally welcome invitees. WTM’s Accessibility Partner Spain will then present on the theme of ‘Spain: A Country for All’, sharing its experiences advancing accessibility and inclusion.

In the following session, the World Travel & Tourism Council will host a panel discussion moderated by Maribel Rodriguez, EVP for Destinations covering the ‘Seven Principles of Investment’. This will incorporate a positive case study from Puerto Rico. There will also be remarks from Gloria Guevara, President & CEO of WTTC.

While the Wednesday 4 November Ministers’ Summit, in association with UN Tourism and the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), can be attended by show visitors, the WTM Leaders’ Summit will be a private event for invitees only.

Chris Carter-Chapman, Event Director of WTM London commented: “Our launch this year of the WTM Leaders’ Summit underscores our commitment to facilitating debate at the highest level, with a view to sharing knowledge, strengthening cross-border cooperation and ensuring a bright future for the travel industry.

“We’re always looking at new ways to make the show as relevant and helpful as possible for our global audience. We hope that by coordinating this gathering of national tourism boards we will enable their leaders to have some truly constructive time with their peers.

“We believe adding this new annual fixture, alongside our Ministers’ Summit, helps cement WTM London’s reputation as the world’s most influential travel show.”
