GIRONA, SPAIN – PGA Catalunya Resort has unveiled its new and upgraded golf academy, The Golf Hub, which integrates the latest state-of-the-art tracking technology and social gaming systems to create a fun, social and accessible approach to improving performance.
The Golf Hub was opened in a ceremony by Masters champion and victorious Ryder Cup team player, Sergio Garcia, who was on an annual visit to his Junior Academy at PGA Catalunya Resort.
The upgraded academy offers 10 covered bays integrated with Toptracer Range technology, which provides instant shot replays and statistical feedback on interactive game screens, while also featuring a range of games and modes suited for all ages and skill levels. Players can take on the world in a long-drive competition, play Closest to the Pin with their friends, dive into advanced analytics on their swing, and virtually tee it up at some of the world’s greatest courses.
The European Tour Destination is also the first venue in Spain to install GEARS Golf – a full swing club and body tracking system used by PGA pros, club fitters, and club manufacturers to measure and analyse every nuance of a swing – in its new fitting and performance studios, in addition to the latest version of Trackman.

Commenting on the new practice facility, Garcia said: “The Golf Hub creates an inclusive and fun learning environment. Players across the board, from beginner to professional level, will feel welcome, engaged and challenged in improving their game. It makes a superb addition to the resort.”
With the largest short game area in Europe (2000m2), featuring five different grasses and five different sand types, the 36-hole venue is already hailed as having some of the best practice facilities on the continent, and has proved a popular destination for national teams looking to train over the winter season and professionals wanting to fine-tune their game.
The new upgraded academy follows a programme of continued investment at PGA Catalunya Resort, targeting the estate’s golf and leisure amenities. Over recent years, developments include an expanded driving range, a new hotel for golf and activity enthusiasts, new paddle and tennis courts, as well as two full-sized football pitches.
