Travel Advisory for Southern California

Αποτέλεσμα εικόνας για Travel Advisory for Southern California

Caltrans District 7 is advising motorists to plan ahead and to be extra cautious as rocks, debris and mud might will spill onto state highways if it rains on Wednesday and Thursday in Los Angeles and Ventura counties. This is due to California fires – Woolsey, Hill, South and Stone.

Pacific Coast Highway (State Route 1) and canyon areas have scorched hills with little or no vegetation to impede water flow. These are particularly vulnerable to rain-related slides that could cause travel delays or road closures. As per National Weather Service (NWS), debris flow would be minor.

NWS officials are forecasting 0.30 to 0.60 inches of rain in Los Angeles and Ventura counties, with as much as 1 inch across the coastal slopes and foothills.

Caltrans is monitoring the burn areas to respond to debris or other problems on roadways.  In order to help the public make wise traveling decisions, Caltrans will be working closely with the media partners to disseminate accurate information.

Windshield wiper blades should be replaced, if required. Allow plenty of time to get to your destination including the trips to the mountains.
