Thirty-one (31) Irish tourism enterprises travelled to London this week, to join Tourism Ireland at Britain & Ireland Marketplace (BIM).
BIM is an annual, B2B workshop, organised by the European Tourism Association to showcase Britain and the island of Ireland. It involves a series of pre-scheduled, one-to-one appointments – with the companies from Ireland having an opportunity to meet, and do business with, the 140+ international travel buyers in attendance.
“We were really pleased to take part in BIM this year – which provides another important platform for Tourism Ireland and our partners to showcase and sell the island of Ireland to key international travel buyers,” said David Boyce, Tourism Ireland’s Head of Asia, Middle East and UK Inbound. ”The majority of our overseas visitors come from our core markets of North America, Great Britain and Mainland Europe, and while this will continue, it is important that we expand our focus beyond these markets and look to the long-term opportunities presented by ‘new’ tourism markets, which we believe will play an increasing role in the future of the travel and tourism industry.”
