CALGARY - WestJet announced that it has again enhanced its schedule and connectivity out of its Vancouver hub to key business and leisure destinations in Canada and Mexico, adding 60 more flights weekly.
"WestJet is again providing additional service to benefit both the business traveller as well as the leisure guest," said Brian Znotins, WestJet Vice-President, Network Planning, Alliances and Corporate Development. "Since 2013, we have invested in providing 40 per cent more capacity for our guests in the community. With today's increases, we will have more than 80 daily departures, and that means increased connectivity as well as convenience. We are certain business travellers and vacationers alike will be pleased wi th the flexibility and timeliness our enhanced schedule provides."
Details of WestJet's increased service from Vancouver:
An increase of 24 weekly flights between Vancouver and Calgary for a total of 16 times daily, with hourly service in both directions (top of the hour from Vancouver, and bottom of the hour from Calgary).

- Vancouver-Edmonton from 50 to 59 times weekly (nine times each business day).

- Vancouver-Ottawa from seven to 14 times weekly (twice daily).
- Vancouver-Regina from six to seven times weekly (daily).
- Vancouver-Fort St. John from six to 12 times weekly.
- Vancouver-Victoria from 33 to 35 times weekly (five times daily).
- Vancouver-Cancun, from two to three times weekly.
- Vancouver-Cabo San Lucas from one to two times weekly.
As previously announced, on March 15, WestJet will launch three-time weekly service between Vancouver and Mexico City with the route moving to daily service on April 29.

The service is part of the airline's seasonal schedule for the summer of 2018. In addition to the above increases to Vancouver service, highlights of WestJet's 2018 summer schedule include:

- Toronto-Ottawa, 76 to 85 times weekly (13 times each business day).
- Toronto-Montreal, from 88 to 93 times weekly (14 times each business day).
- Toronto-Saskatoon, from 10 to 12 times weekly.
- Toronto-Victoria, from three to four times weekly.
- Toronto-Cancun, from nine to 10 times weekly.
- Toronto-Montego Bay, from 10 to 11 times weekly.
- Toronto-Nassau, from four to five times weekly.
- Toronto-Puerto Plata, from two to three times weekly.
- Toronto-Punta Cana, from five to six times weekly.
- Toronto-Fort Myers, from four to five times weekly.
This summer, WestJet will operate an average of 128 daily flights from Toronto, reflecting a 25 per cent growth in capacity from its Toronto Pearson hub since 2013.

WestJet Link launch delayed
WestJet announced a delay in the launch of WestJet Link, a capacity purchase agreement between WestJet and Pacific Coastal Airlines, to June 2018. The delay comes as Pacific Coastal continues their work in order to be fully able to meet WestJet's operational requirements.

"WestJet apologizes to our guests for the inconvenience these delays may cause," said Brian Znotins. "Impacted guests are being offered several different options including alternative transportation to Calgary to embark on their travel from there, obtaining a full refund or changing the date of travel. We again apologize to our guests for this inconvenience and look forward to the launch of our flights from Lethbridge, Lloydminster, Medicine Hat, Cranbrook and Prince George in June."
