A new association named The Independent Food Tour Association (TIFTA) is launched. It represents a global alliance of quality independent food tour operators. Founded in Asia, TIFTA has received strong interest from food tour operators around the world, and will be accepting members from Europe in the coming months.
James Pelham, Founder of TIFTA and owner of Singabites said "Our mission at TIFTA is to create a reputable community of the best food tours globally which will become the trusted source for food travellers around the world."
Food Tourism is a growing sector and has seen a corresponding rapid increase in the number of companies offering food tours. These tours vary greatly in experience and quality. TIFTA aims to recognise those operators with quality operations to make selection of a rewarding food tour easier for tourists. Unlike booking platforms such as Viator, TIFTA membership is restricted to experienced independent tour operators that meet minimum quality standards.
Wai Zhou, Co-founder of TIFTA and owner of Eating Adventures said "We are honoured to have such high quality tour operators join as our founding members. So far we have 8 tour operators covering 13 cities in Asia. Members include, Taste of Thailand, Food Tours Malaysia, Lost Plate, Saigon Street Eats, Oishii Tokyo, Queenies Food Tours, Eating Adventures and Singabites. We have received numerous additional applications for membership and we look forward to adding more quality tour operators in the coming months."
As an added bonus, the TIFTA alliance offers clients a 10% discount on future tours with partner members (Terms and Conditions Apply).
