JetBlue plans non-stop service from Hollywood to Port of Spain

JetBlue Airways intends to begin service to Port of Spain (POS), Trinidad and Tobago, with once-daily non-stop flights from Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL) from May 1, 2014.
The flight will depart FLL at 7.00am, arriving at POS 10.45am. The return service will depart at 11.45am, arriving back in Hollywood at 3.54pm.

The airline will also begin twice-daily non-stop service to POS from New York’s JFK International Airport from February 24, 2014. Both services are subject to receipt of government operating authority.

The services will be operated on A320s, with seating for 150.

Scott Laurence, vice president of network planning, said: “We are dedicated to growing in South Florida and expanding our network to the Caribbean and Latin America.

“Customers visiting the beautiful island of Trinidad and Tobago have dealt with high fares, cramped seating and limited choices for too long.”

Destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean now make up almost one third of JetBlue’s route network, with 27 destinations.

The airline also plans to begin service to Port-au-Prince, Haiti, this winter, subject to government approval.
