U.S. hotel results for week ending Sept. 12

 

The U.S. hotel industry reported negative weekly results due to the Labor Day calendar shift, according to CoStar data for the week ending Sept. 12.

Sept. 6-12 (percentage change from comparable week in 2025):

Occupancy: 62.3% (-4.6%)
ADR: $160.57 (-1.7%)
RevPAR: $100.08 (-6.2%)

The industry had recorded 21 consecutive weeks of performance growth. Year-over-year declines were concentrated from Monday through Wednesday, as the comparable week in 2025 did not include the Labor Day holiday.

Among the top 25 markets, New York City saw the largest gains across each of the three key performance metrics: occupancy (+4.1% to 91.8%), ADR (+7.1% to $435.43) and RevPAR (+11.5% to $399.60).

Las Vegas reported the steepest declines in ADR (-20.2% to $149.68) and RevPAR (-32.8% to $97.55), while Minneapolis saw the largest occupancy drop (-17.0% to 57.8%).
