The new route will bring the number of intercontinental destinations served directly by TAP from Porto to seven. The airline already connects Porto with New York, Boston, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Luanda and Praia, alongside European and domestic destinations including London, Paris, Zurich, Geneva, Terceira and Funchal.
The Porto–Sal service will be operated with A320neo aircraft. From 25 October, flights will depart Porto on Thursdays and Sundays at 20:50 and arrive in Sal at 00:20.
Return services will depart Sal on Fridays and Mondays at 01:20 and arrive in Porto at 06:40.
During the IATA summer season, from 29 March to 24 October, flights will operate on a different schedule. Departures from Porto will take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 21:05, arriving at Amílcar Cabral International Airport at 01:35.
Flights from Sal during the summer schedule will depart on Thursdays and Sundays at 02:35 and arrive in Porto at 06:55.
TAP also expanded its Porto network on 1 and 2 July with the launch of flights to Terceira in the Azores and Praia in Cape Verde.
The airline currently offers more than 130 direct flights per week from Porto to destinations worldwide. This includes more than 20 weekly flights to seven intercontinental destinations: Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, New York, Boston, Luanda, Praia and Sal.
The Porto network also includes direct services to London, Paris, Zurich and Geneva. TAP has also converted its Porto – Boston route from a seasonal operation to a year-round service.
