From the court to the ship: AIDA makes the basketball summer of 2026 a reality.

AIDA is combining basketball, vacation, and exclusive experiences into a special summer highlight. "Basketball thrives on emotion, community, and enthusiasm – and we're bringing precisely this energy on board our ships in the summer of 2026, making basketball accessible to our fans on land as well," says Alexander Ewig, Senior Vice President of Marketing & Sales at AIDA Cruises.

One component of this is the sponsorship activities: AIDA is involved in events such as the ING 3x3 German Championship 2026 in Hanover and the FIBA Women's World Cup in Berlin, thus bringing the brand into direct contact with the basketball community. AIDA is an official partner of the German 3x3 Championships 2026, which will take place from July 23 to 26. The event is one of the biggest national sporting highlights, where 22 other sports will also crown their German champions. AIDA Cruises is also an official event partner of the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2026 in Berlin from September 4th to 13th, 2026 – the global highlight in women’s basketball with 16 teams from around the world, including Germany, Belgium, the USA, Nigeria, and Australia, as well as top stars like Leonie Fiebich, Emma Meesseman, and A’ja Wilson. At the same time, the company is actively committed to increasing the visibility and promotion of women in elite sports, for example, through its partnership with Hamburger SV.

AIDA is also bringing basketball more prominently onto its ships, creating special experiences for the whole family. These include the ROSTOCK SEAWOLVES Basketball Camps 2026, for which a few cabins are still available. Fun and team spirit are guaranteed at every camp. The camps will take place on two cruises: AIDAnova from August 1st to 8th, 2026, and AIDAmar from August 13th to 18th, 2026. At the basketball camp on AIDAnova, kids aged 10 to 14 can learn a lot about technique and tactics from ROSTOCK SEAWOLVES coach Domenik Reinboth and BBL pro DeAndre Lansdowne. Families take note: A second cabin on AIDAnova is now available at a discounted rate through the AIDA Customer Center at +49 381 20 2707 07 29, using the keyword SEAWOLVES.

Another highlight is the FIBA World Cup Ticket Challenges on board, where guests in July and August have the chance to win tickets to the FIBA Women's World Cup. This promotion is taking place on selected cruises.

Fans can also join the basketball summer digitally: AIDA is giving away tickets to the FIBA Women's World Cup at aida.de/unternehmen/kooperationen/basketball. In addition, you can win a spot at AIDA Basketball Day aboard AIDAperla on August 29, 2026: International basketball stars will be joining the Orlando Magic on their summer tour in Hamburg. Winners will have the opportunity to see NBA legend Mickaël Piétrus and the mascot "Stuff" live. The program also includes talks and personal encounters with professional basketball players.

Further information about all AIDA cruises and bookings are available at travel agencies, the AIDA Customer Center at +49 381 20 27 07 07, and at aida.de.
