The resort’s 208 guestrooms and suites are designed with its medieval character throughout the spaces. That inspiration carries throughout the property, into Serpent’s Bay, the indoor-outdoor aquatic complex with five distinct pool and splash experiences, including an adults-only swim-up bar. There are also five food and beverage outlets, anchored by the tavern-style Blade & Barrel, while Hero’s Hall features arcade games and a private party room.
“Wisconsin Dells has always drawn travelers who are looking for a trip beyond the ordinary, and Dellshire was created with that same spirit in mind,” said Michael Lucero, GM, Dellshire Resort. “A fire-breathing dragon welcomes people at the entrance, and the immersion only deepens from there. The fantasy world we’ve created goes beyond architecture and lives in programming, rooms and dining. Guests are not just passing through a themed environment; they are actually participating in it.”
As guests arrive at the resort, they are greeted by Golspar, a 70-ft, fire-breathing steel dragon. Created by Las Vegas–based metal sculptor Kevin Stone, the nearly 17,000-pound structure ranks among the largest steel dragon sculptures in the world.
Once inside, visitors are transported to a castle brought to life. The two-story entrance framed by cathedral-style windows brings light into the space, while stone masonry and sculptural corbels carry the medieval vision from floor to ceiling. A compass is inlaid into the lobby floor, a nod to the spirit of exploration that runs throughout the resort. Shields displayed across the stone walls pay homage to the characters integral to the Legends of Dellshire Mixed Reality Adventure. Large steel chandeliers overhead continue the medieval design.
The resort also offers 10,875 sq. ft. of indoor meeting space, including The Keystone Event Center and The Chaucer-Troyes Ballroom.
Launching this summer, the property will introduce Legends of Dellshire, a first-of-its-kind mixed reality experience that will be the resort’s signature attraction. Through augmented reality headsets, the resort itself becomes a living, interactive story world, with themed locations across the property for guests to discover, engage with and unlock.
