Copa Airlines increases Fort Lauderdale–Panama City service to daily from December 8, 2025

PANAMA CITY, PANAMA – Copa Airlines is increasing capacity on its Fort Lauderdale – Panama City route, moving from five weekly flights to daily nonstop service from 8 December 2025, enhancing connectivity between South Florida, Latin America and the Caribbean.

The service, operated from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) Terminal 1 to Copa’s Hub of the Americas at Tocumen International Airport (PTY) in Panama City, will maintain its existing schedule. The flight departs Fort Lauderdale at 5:09 p.m. (ET) and arrives in Panama City at 8:13 p.m. (local time), offering convenient evening connections across Copa’s regional network.

The route, which launched on 11 July 2014 as Copa’s tenth U.S. destination, recently marked its 10th anniversary in 2024. The upgrade to daily service reflects sustained demand from both leisure and VFR traffic, underpinned by Fort Lauderdale’s role as one of South Florida’s key beach destinations with a large and growing Latin American community.

“Copa Airlines is proud to continue strengthening the connection between Fort Lauderdale and destinations across Latin America and the Caribbean,” said Copa Airlines, Regional Commercial Manager, North America at Copa Airlines. “With the increase to daily service, just in time for the busy holiday and winter travel season, we reaffirm our commitment to fostering cultural exchange, supporting economic growth, and delivering the world-class service travelers have come to expect from Copa Airlines. This expansion gives our passengers even greater flexibility and seamless connectivity through our Hub of the Americas, enhancing accessibility and further deepening the ties that unite South Florida with the vibrant communities of Latin America and beyond.”

Operating as a subsidiary of Copa Holdings, S.A. and a member of Star Alliance, Copa uses its Hub of the Americas in Panama City to provide same-day connections to key markets across Central America, South America and the Caribbean. The daily Fort Lauderdale service is positioned to support that model, offering South Florida-origin passengers additional choice alongside Miami while giving regional partners and travel sellers more consistent inventory and connection options.

Copa also highlights its operational reliability as a key differentiator in the market. The airline was recognised by aviation analytics firm Cirium as the “Most Punctual Airline in Latin America in 2025” with an on-time arrival rate of 88.22%. This marks the tenth time Copa has received the regional punctuality accolade and ranks it third globally, reinforcing its positioning for schedule-sensitive travellers and trade partners.
