Saudi Tourism Authority and JCB join forces to boost global tourism

The Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) and JCB International Co., Ltd. (JCB) signed a historic agreement on October 15, 2023, with the aim of enhancing tourism in Saudi Arabia for JCB cardmembers worldwide.

The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) represents a major milestone in the partnership between the two organizations.

The collaboration with JCB is expected to create numerous opportunities for cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Japan. Japan is among the 57 countries eligible for Saudi’s e-visa and visa on arrival. Tourists continuing their journey on SAUDIA are eligible for special perks, such as a complimentary one-night hotel stay, through Saudi Arabia’s 96-hour Stopover Visa program.

In addition to the Stopover Visa program, important initiatives include the launch of the VisitSaudi.jp portal in Japanese. Japanese tourists can also benefit from exclusive hotel bargains offered by nearby Destination Management Companies (DMCs), with tempting offers allowing them to explore the real Arabia on their terms.

“This is a great chance for us to promote exciting travel experiences to Saudi for our cardmembers. Like Japan, Saudi is a truly unique destination, with fascinating nature, culture and history”, says Mr. Yoshiki Kaneko, President and CEO of JCB International Co.Ltd. He added that they have collaborated closely with prominent local banks in Saudi Arabia, including SNB, Alinma Bank, Riyad Bank, ANB, and Bank Al Jazira.

This partnership involves merchant and ATM enablement, ensuring that JCB’s 154 million card members have a smooth and seamless experience while in Saudi Arabia.

This collaboration represents a significant development for Saudi Arabia and Japan’s tourism, travel, and cultural interaction.
