Explore relaunches India tiger safari

Specialist operator Explore has added a new, revised tour India Tiger Safari, to its programme.

Instead of flying, the revised India tour includes scenic train journeys across central India, creating a more authentic travel experience.

The 15-day journey has no less than 13 safaris across five National Parks.

These include the Kanha National Park, which is the inspiration for Rudyard Kipling’s ‘Jungle Book,’

It also visits the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, which has the highest population-density of tigers in the world.

Guests have time to drive through the lesser-visited Panna, which boasts over-200 bird species and a hugely varied topography.

There is also a riverboat safari with a difference in Chambal in search of crocodiles, Ganges river dolphins, otters and turtles.

The India tour costs £2,979 per person (excluding flights) and includes 14 nights’ hotel accommodation, breakfast and other meals, local transport and an Explore guide throughout.

It adds to Explore’s wide ranging tour portfolio to over 100 countries covering cultural discovery, walking, cycling and family holidays.
