Prominence Hospitality Group, a real estate investment, development and hotel management company based in Chicago, has expanded its portfolio by adding the Courtyard by Marriott Albion.
Owned by Albion College, the hotel is a core anchor in the redevelopment of the downtown area of Albion. It is the second Michigan hotel and fourth Marriott to join the Prominence portfolio.
“The opening of the Marriott in downtown Albion in 2018 was a major catalyst in the resurgence we are now seeing in the area,” said Joe Calvaruso, interim president, Albion College. “The selection of Prominence to manage the hotel was a natural fit for this property, with their growth strategies closely aligned with those of the Albion community. Prominence is hyper-focused on creating a memorable guest experience while building asset value and creating and empowering strong leadership at the property.”
The 75-key hotel is located in downtown Albion, close to Albion College. The area has an array of new bars and restaurants, the newly renovated historic Bohm Theatre and a children’s museum, in addition to a nearby proximity to the industrial district of the city.
“The resurgence of downtown Albion is inspiring and exciting,” said Dhaval Brahmbhatt, principal, Prominence Hospitality Group. “The opportunity to be a part of the invigoration of Albion only adds to our own company’s growth trajectory as we expand within the Midwest region.”
