The famous Jumbo restaurant has sunk in the South China Sea as a shocking incident. The renowned restaurant was pulled away from its harbour and got drowned later on. This restaurant was more than a 50-year-old floating tourist attraction and was the city’s one of the prime tourist attraction as well.
As it was being transported to some other location, the floating restaurant just turned over in the water, as confirmed by the parent company. Thankfully, in this awful incident, no one was hurt.
Previously, in March 2020, the restaurant had got closed due to the pandemic. Over 3 million guests have dined here, as per the records. This legendary Cantonese cuisine restaurant is known to everyone. Also, the restaurant hosted many famous celebrities like Jimmy Carter, Queen Elizabeth II of Britain, Richard Branson, Tom Cruise and, many others.
Jumbo was internationally was very well-known and many foreign movies were shot in this legendary restaurant like the Enter the Dragon (1973) of Bruce Lee and The Man with the Golden Gun, a James Bond movie of 1974.
This restaurant had the capacity to take in 2000 people at one time. It was a 260 ft long beauty. The restaurant has an older and smaller sister restaurant boat along with a kitchen boat, seafood tanks, and for transportation purposes, there were eight ferries altogether. It was the main boat of Jumbo Kingdom and it used to be the world’s largest floating restaurant at one point of time!
