Royal Caribbean Singapore Cruises To Soon Include Port Calls

Move over cruises to nowhere, cruises to somewhere are coming back!

Since the cruise industry restart, Royal Caribbean International has been operating cruises to nowhere out of Singapore as uncertainty and closures still surrounded ports in Asia.

As the world continues to get back to normal, the cruise line has announced that voyages on its Quantum Ultra-class ship Spectrum of the Seas will begin visiting destinations in Malaysia as soon as June 30th.

The new three and four-night itineraries will visit Penang and Kuala Lumpur. In Penang, guests will be able to visit southeastern Asia’s oldest Anglican church, St. George’s Church. In Penang, passengers can venture into the Batu Caves, where colorful displays of Hindu deities adorn the cave’s limestone walls.

“We have been working closely with various governments in Southeast Asia to align on cruise protocols and policies, and are excited to bring back port calls in Malaysia for sailings as a start,” said Annie Chang, Director of Cruise, Singapore Tourism Board. “Port calls will provide more vacation options, and we look forward to seeing more first-time and repeat cruisers in the coming year as more ports in the region open up.”

Highlights of the 2019-built Spectrum of the Seas include the virtual reality, bungee trampoline attraction Sky Pad, the indoor activity complex SeaPlex with bumper cars and more, and the RipCord by iFly skydiving simulator experience.

The ship also features a number of restaurants including Teppanyaki, Sichuan Red, and Hot Pot. A private enclave for those staying in suites onboard includes exclusive amenities such as private dining rooms and lounges.

Like many other Royal Caribbean ships, Spectrum of the Seas also includes a FlowRider surf simulator, as well as the North Star observation capsule that’s iconic on the line’s Quantum-class vessels.
