ACI-LAC reaches 52 airports in Airport Carbon Accreditation program

Airports Council International for Latin America and the Caribbean (ACI-LAC) is pleased to reach 52 airports accredited in the ACI Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) program.

The Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) Program is the only airport-specific carbon management certification that independently evaluates and recognizes airports’ efforts to manage and reduce their carbon emissions. The program has six (6) levels of certification: “Mapping”; “Reduction”; “Optimization”; “Neutrality”; “Transformation” and “Transition” that seeks to recognize the efforts of airports that are at different stages in their journey towards comprehensive management of their carbon emissions.

The most recent additions to the list of environmentally responsible airports are Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico’s Morelia and Manzanillo International Airports, which with these two airports, have accredited the group’s 12 airports in Mexico.

We would also like to highlight the Aimé Césaire International Airport in Martinique, which recently joined the “Mapping” level, becoming the 50th airport in the region in the ACA program.
