Royal Caribbean Extends Anthem of the Seas’ British Isles Season

Royal Caribbean International has announced that the British Isles sailings aboard Anthem of the Seas have been extended through October 2021.

Since early July, the Quantum-class vessel has been sailing from Southampton, England and welcoming thousands of UK residents on board. Beginning in September, eligible international guests will also be able to set sail aboard the ship from Southampton.

Guests sailing on Anthem‘s five to seven-night British Isles cruises will experience the perfect mix of British culture and beautiful natural scenery at ports of call including Liverpool, England; Belfast, Northern Ireland; and Kirkwall and Glasgow, Scotland.

“We welcome the recent update from the U.K. government, which lifted advice against international cruise travel. While this marks a positive step forward in the global return of cruise, there are still complexities to navigate when calling at multiple European ports of call from the U.K. This, coupled with the popularity of our British Isles sailings to date, has led to our decision to extend our sailings around the British Isles, and I’m delighted to welcome international guests to experience these itineraries, starting in September.”

“We are thrilled with the response to our Royal Caribbean holidays from the U.K. Since recommencing sailings in early July, our British Isles itineraries have achieved peak guest satisfaction levels. Anthem of the Seas is an incredible ship and very popular with U.K. guests.” said Ben Bouldin, vice president EMEA, Royal Caribbean International.

Royal Caribbean’s health and safety measures for these UK voyages include sailing with fully vaccinated crew and guests 18 and older, who also must provide negative test results before boarding. Those under 18 don’t need to be vaccinated, but if they are they can bring proof so that they don’t have to follow additional health guidelines.

On the ship, masks will be required indoors for all guests 11 years and older. They’re not required outdoors.

In ports of call, everyone must purchase an excursion through Royal Caribbean, and cannot explore on their own. Each port may have different rules, such as whether people are required to wear masks there or not.

Bookings are now open for Anthem of the Seas’ extended UK season.
