The award-winning Northern Lights Lounge at Aberdeen International Airport is set to reopen once again. Passengers will once again be able to enjoy the best the region has to offer when the lounge reopens on Monday, May 17.
Opened in 2017 as part of the £20m terminal transformation project the lounge will continue to work in partnership with local suppliers helping support jobs across the north-east.
Measures have been put in place at the terminal to allow passengers to enjoy the Northern Lights Lounge safely.
Passengers will now enjoy table service by trained staff with food prepared to order and drinks delivered to your allocated table. QR codes have also been created so passengers can access menus via their phone.
Tables and chairs have been positioned to allow for safe physical distancing with hand sanitising stations set up throughout and a one-way system for entering and exiting.
Passengers will also be asked for their information when entering for Test and Protect purposes.
Jemma Forrest, Commercial Manager at Aberdeen International Airport, said: “We are delighted we are able to reopen the Northern Lights Lounge to passengers.
“The measures we have put in place will help keep them safe while being able to offer them more choice throughout our airport.
“Our staff and suppliers work extremely hard and we love being able to showcase our amazing region and all the north-east has to offer.”
Several retail outlets have reopened this month at the North-east’s major transport hub including World Duty Free, Distilling House and WH Smith landside. Boots and WH Smith airside have continued to trade throughout the latest lockdown period.
Mark Beveridge, Operations Director at Aberdeen International Airport, said: “As we ease out of lockdown we will continue our focus on maintaining public safety for our passengers with enhanced safety measures.
“Bringing back business safely remains a key priority and we are delighted to see our business partners reopening at our terminal. While it is critical that we re-emerge with strong connectivity it is also key that the passengers using our airport have access to as many of the facilities possible within the terminal and feel safe to do so.
“The Northern Lights Lounge has been an extremely popular addition to our airport as part of the recent transformation of the terminal and I am delighted it will once again be back up and running for our passengers.”
