Solomon Airlines confirms seats now available on flights Solomon Islands to Australia to mid-June

Following approval by the Australian Government, Solomon Airlines has confirmed that passenger seats are now available for sale on flights from Honiara to Brisbane every Friday until mid-June 2021.

Each week, (including 23 and 30 April, 7, 14, 21 and 28 May, 4 and 11 June), Flight IE700 will depart Honiara at 4:15pm, arriving in Brisbane at 6:30pm.

The flights will collectively allow over 250 passengers who have right of entry, to return to Australia, and will provide additional options for those wishing to transit onward to other international destinations.

“It is more than just selling seats on our A320 flights to Brisbane, it is the opportunity to see loved ones or to attend to business in Australia,” said Colin Sigimanu, Manager Commercial for Solomon Airlines.

“It is also an important step for us as an airline and we are thankful to the governments of Solomon Islands and Australia for their ongoing support, and for allowing us to offer these flights to the public.

“Our A320 aircraft has been incredibly busy operating weekly cargo flights and government-approved special charters, which has been a blessing during this pandemic where so many airlines have had to suspend their flying altogether.

“With the support of our government to continue special flights under strict COVID-19 safety procedures, the steady income from our international operations has enabled us to keep flying and support continuity of our domestic network operation,” he said.

All Solomon Airlines flights comply fully with the COVID-19 regulations of the relevant countries including all passengers being required to wear facemasks in all airports and for the full duration of the flight. Solomon Airlines crew on board the airline’s A320 aircraft also wear facemasks and gloves for the duration of service and catering is minimal to reduce contact between passengers and crew.
