NORWALK, CT – HEI Hotels & Resorts, a leading hospitality investment and management company, announced the creation of a C-suite of HEI veterans to facilitate the company’s strong continued growth and development. HEI grew considerably in 2019 and 2020 with over 25 new transactions in key leisure and business markets such as Philadelphia, Boston and Dallas and New York. The company now owns and/or manages 85 best-in-class hotels.

- Karl Murphy promoted to Chief Commercial Officer

- Nigel Hurst promoted to Chief Human Resource Officer
Karl Murphy joined HEI in 2005 and was promoted from Chief Revenue Officer to Chief Commercial Officer. He started his career at the property level and eventually joined the corporate office in 2005. With over 20 years’ experience, Karl will be responsible for devising sales, revenue and marketing strategies aimed at harnessing the commercial power of the organization to drive growth.
Dan Walworth joined HEI in 2007 and was promoted from Executive Vice President to Chief Strategy & Compliance Officer. He has spent nearly 20 years developing and implementing innovative processes, tools, and systems across multiple industries, including financial services, healthcare, software development, wireless technologies, and ultimately hospitality.
Rachel Moniz joined HEI in 2008 and was promoted from Executive vice President, Operations to Chief Operations Officer. She is responsible for the day-to-day operations of HEI and will work alongside the wider management team to set and achieve comprehensive goals for performance and growth. Rachel possesses expert knowledge in hospitality, having worked in several executive leadership positions for over 20 years in independent, luxury and lifestyle hotels prior to joining HEI.
Marcus Harris joined HEI in 2002 and was promoted from Executive Vice President to Chief Financial Officer. He oversees company and property level finances and manages accounting, investor relations, strategic planning and corporate strategy. He has brought to HEI more than 20 years of hospitality experience in both brand owned/operated assets, as well as independently owned/operated assets. Prior to joining the company he held various roles with Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Marriott International.
Nigel Hurst joined HEI in 2006 and was promoted from Executive Vice President, Human Resources to Chief Human Resource Officer. In his new role, he will continue to recruit top talent for HEI and its properties while working to create a collaborative and supportive corporate culture.
