Travel startup “THE HUB” recognized by Business Insider on inaugural list of travel changemakers for the travel industry

MILWAUKEE – Business Insider has announced Milwaukee based startup The HUB Social Network for the travel industry as one of ten companies who have “anticipated changing traveler needs and has either pivoted their business or created a new one to adapt to the new normal.”

The inaugural list was announced this week and includes The HUB along with some of the biggest names in travel including Delta Airlines, TripAdvisor, Airbnb and more. The list was compiled by nominations and research by Business Insider.
THE HUB officially launched in August as a private worldwide social media platform designed specifically to bring travel advisors and suppliers together as a community to address the COVID-19 disruption.

The company’s founders, Tom Brussow, a long-time travel industry executive and Pat Miller, a Small Business consultant began planning the platform in May. “When the COVID crisis hit my travel agency business, I began looking for a community
to get support and the information that I needed. I realized that it was not just me, but the entire travel industry, who was in dire need of information, connectivity, and support. My search for community led to the launch of The HUB where travel agents and suppliers are working together to not just survive, but thrive,” said Tom Brussow.

The primary goal of The HUB is to bring the entire industry together under one roof with a comprehensive suite of business tools, peer to peer collaboration and programming to improve the quality and gain efficiencies that can't be found with traditional social media.

Miller is currently hosting a weekly"Path to Prosperity" brainstorming series focusing on rebuilding consumer confidence and leveraging collective knowledge, wisdom, and creative ideas.

“As the host of THE HUB programs, it’s my job to host collaborative workshops to help resorts book guests, agents serve clients and get everyone the critical information they need. Our programming has guests live from around the world and leading agents working together to save their businesses. The travel industry WILL come back, and we are committed to help everyone be ready when it does,” said Pat Miller, the Host of THE HUB.

To make sure that every leading agent in the country can participate and get help when they need it, The HUB has launched a membership program called “HUBTOBERFEST.”

The program offers a 12-month free trial (a $200 value) to the premium community for travel agents so they can get the support and collaboration they need without having to pay the first year membership dues. The program is generously supported by Playa Resorts and Virgin Voyages.

The HUB team is also piloting a "Destination Community" feature where member generated destination content drives real time information and intelligence for agents. Costa Rica's community feature is in the final stages, with Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, Las Vegas, Hawaii, and the Lomas Travel Group scheduled to be completed by the end of 2020.

All travel industry members including professional agents, suppliers, tourism boards, DMCs, and attractions are encouraged and welcome to join THE HUB.
