According to new research, Sheffield is the cheapest city in the UK for a weekend away, new research has revealed. The study, conducted by online car hire excess insurance specialist insurance4carhire, analysed 20 major UK cities against four factors to determine the best major city hotspots for a weekend staycation that won’t break the bank.
These factors were: hotel metrics (average price of a weekend hotel stay) food and drink metrics (average cost of a meal and average cost of a pint of beer) and attraction metrics (number of free attractions).
Overall, the top ten major cities were revealed as:
- Sheffield
- Bradford
- Stoke-on-Trent
- Sunderland
- Kingston upon Hull
