Latvia’s flag carrier airBaltic has decided to resume direct flights from Riga to London and from Tallinn to London starting July 4. The airline has also decided to launch new direct flights from Vilnius to London on June 1. The latest move arrives right after the Baltic governments provided the carrier with official restart certificate.
The airline has also joined hands with authorities to monitor the present condition and is flexible to adjust the flight schedule according to the demand of the situation. At present, airBaltic is operating direct flights from Riga to various European business hubs. It is also in the process of resuming flights popular leisure destinations as Dubrovnik, Rijeka and Split in Croatia, Barcelona in Spain, Nice in France, Larnaca in Cyprus as well as Rome, Catania and Milan in Italy among others.
Additionally, the carrier is also offering offers various direct services from Tallinn and Vilnius. However, the airline will be restarting operations with proper measures and precautions to maintain safety and security of passengers and crew. Passengers have been strictly advised to check the travel regulations and airport restrictions on the official websites or with local embassies before travelling.
Martin Gauss, Chief Executive, airBaltic said in a recent press statement that the safety and health of passengers remains the highest priority for the airline. He mentioned that the company has introduced strong safety measures before restarting services and said that the new flight operations follow the recommendations issued by authorities. He also shared that all passengers on board of airBaltic aircraft will be provided with a complimentary basic care kit consisting of a protective face mask and disinfection wipes.
