Meetingselect Announces New Distance Seating Solution for Meetings

Meetingselect unveils new distance seating functionality ...

Meetingselect, the cloud-based venue sourcing & strategic meetings management platform, has announced the release of its new Distance Seating solution for meeting & event delegates to meet safely and stay in compliance with both their company and the new government regulations per country and/or state.

In collaboration with major hotel chains, the Dutch company developed a new algorithm to calculate the complex seatings-per-meeting requirements per venue based on the countries’ local policies.

Based on the planners’ preferred meeting setup (e.g. U-Shape, Boardroom, Theatre, Classroom) and social distancing requirements, the software will automatically suggest venues and meeting rooms that comply, making searches & requests for proposals less time consuming.

The software can indicate the maximum capacity of bookers favourite meeting room, leading to better and quicker decision making.

Since 2007, Meetingselect has been one of the first online meetings management platforms to offer its customers Duty of Care solutions for Meetings and Events. During the first weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic Meetingselect has been in close contact with the bookers and hotels & venues to ensure that the booked meetings could be moved to a new date.

“Due to the high distribution volume in the meetings industry, Meetingselect has been able to realize savings up to 70% for customers during the Covid-19 crisis when customers had to cancel their meetings and group bookings en masse.”, says Anouk Roohé, Co-Founder of Meetingselect.

“We’re slowly seeing an increase in external meeting bookings in Northern Europe. It appears that many hotels & meeting venues are ready to restart and to welcome their guests again, which is positive news for the industry.”
