Last evening, on February 13, this year’s Grand Travel Awards were held at Grand Hôtel in Stockholm. Seventeen prizes were awarded in 17 categories within the hotel and travel industry for the 27th year running in categories including Best European Airline and Service & Support of the Year. But for hotels, one award is coveted above all others – Best Individual Hotel of the Year. And this year, the prize for best hotel was awarded to Scandic’s signature hotel in Stockholm’s historic PUB building, Haymarket by Scandic, for the second time since the hotel opened in 2016, with the following reasoning:
“Haymarket is both a natural part of the Swedish capital and a destination in itself. Finding your room in the maze of seven buildings that make up Haymarket is sometimes tricky. But once inside, you’ll easily lose yourself in the hotel’s gorgeously appointed rooms and amazing beds. Haymarket is a place where you come to spend the night and never want to leave. And the way that Scandic has reinvented itself with Haymarket is perhaps most important piece of the puzzle.”
– We’re so very happy and proud to have won this award. It’s proof that everything Scandic has invested in this unique hotel is spot on. We plan to continue cherishing and developing Haymarket by Scandic and #ThatHaymarketFeeling. And we look forward to welcoming everyone, says Jessica Norgren, General Manager, Haymarket by Scandic.
Haymarket by Scandic opened in 2016 as Scandic’s first signature hotel. The hotel is often in the limelight, not least because of its unique location in the historic PUB department store building. Haymarket attracts curious tourists and locals alike and also offers Paul’s restaurant, Gretas’ café and the Americain cocktail bar. Haymarket has 401 rooms including 16 suites, an event floor and an exclusive 50 m2 suite with a private rooftop terrace.
