It will be supported by the Mongolian Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports and will be held from the 23rd year on March 6-8 in the city of Bulgan.
The event is aimed at promoting winter tourism and will pass on the camel culture of future generations and encouraging herders to increase the animal’s population.
There will be several activities in the festival like camel racing, camel polo and a trade fair featuring camel products.
The National Statistical Office of Mongolia mentioned that there were over 70.09 million livestock animals in the country by the end of 2019 out of which 0.7 were camels.
In terms of camel population, Umnugovi was ranked first among all the 21 provinces of Mongolia.
For the Mongolia tourism sector, 2020 is a special year and has set a goal of receiving 1 million foreign tourists and earning 1 billion U.S. dollars from tourism in 2020.
The country received a total of 549,756 foreign tourists for the first 11 months of 2019. This was up by 10 percent year-on-year.
