This year is the year of anniversaries for the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre. In 2019, the largest Slovenian exhibition and congress centre has celebrated the 65th anniversary since the start of its operations, the 30th edition of its own Alpe-Adria Fair, the 50th edition of its own Nature-Health Fair and the 30th edition of its Ambient Ljubljana – Furniture and Interior Design.
Also, in 2019, the GR celebrated the 60th anniversary since hosting one of the most noble concerts in its entire history – the great Louis Armstrong. In addition, the GR has been in 2019 the venue for anniversaries of events in organisation of GR’s partners, like the 20th Slovene Hair Show. And recently, in late November, the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre (GR), was the venue of the 50th Ski Fair Snežinka (Snowfall).
Annually, the fair welcomes visitors in the GR halls just before the new skiing season starts. The largest ski fair event in Slovenia in three-days hosted a similar number of people like last year, around 15,000, who were interested in seeing the selection of the new and second-hand ski equipment, as well as to get familiar with the ski tourism focused on ski resorts and centres. Among 24 exhibitors, there were not just sports equipment, but also different winter destinations, domestic and international ones. Snežinka was taking place in the halls of the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention between the 21st and 24th of November.
Set in Marmona Hall and in its Foyer, among Slovenes very beloved traditional event combining sales fair with the exhibition fair, included sales of used equipment like skis, ski boots, ski poles, as well as clothes and helmets. However, the Fair did not showcase and sell only new and used skiing equipment, but also equipment and accessories for other winter sports so that all the lovers of winter fun found something for them at the fair. Organizer of the Ski Fair Snežinka is the Ski Club Snežinka which this year also celebrates its jubilee 50th anniversary.
