(New York, NY, December 2nd, 2019) Journey Mexico announced today that Alfonso Sumano is joining their team as the company’s Director of Business Development.
Sumano brings over 20 years of experience in the travel industry to Journey Mexico. He joins Journey Mexico after three years overseeing the Mexico Tourism Board’s New York City office. He was a founding member of the Mexico Tourism Board and was instrumental in setting its strategy and promoting Mexico in the US and globally. Alfonso also represented the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) for North America.
Before his time with Mexico’s Tourism Board, he worked as Commercial Strategy Director at Corporate Travel Services in
Mexico, now owned by Travel Leaders Group, and previously, as Executive Vice President of Richard Sandoval Group – with over 40 business units around the globe.

As Director of Business Development, Sumano will oversee the global business development and sales efforts for the company. Well connected in the travel industry, he will work closely with the world’s top travel professionals to promote luxury travel experiences in Mexico with Journey Mexico.
