Wilderness Safaris’ Jao Camp has reopened in the heart of Botswana’s Okavango Delta after being completely renovated.
Apart from featuring five tented suites, there will be two new exclusive villas each having its own private vehicle, guide, chef and butler.
Co-owner of the Jao Reserve, Cathy Kays was thrilled to reveal the transformation of Jao Camp after eight-and-a-half months of construction, and was proud of our various teams and craftsmen who worked tirelessly to make this happen.
There is a special area with all elements of the rebuild that embraces the true essence of the Delta.
Beautiful colour palettes of creams, greens, soft purple and yellow has been incorporated in a unique botanical theme throughout the design. There is emphasis placed on the abundant water lily.
The uniquely designed furnishings and fittings is a perfect fit for the buildings and provide eye-catching details.
There is a new main area in the camp, elevated into the tree canopy. There are new villas and suites with private plunge pools, lounge and dining areas and en-suite bathrooms that include indoor and outdoor showers.
Beneath the palm trees in a tranquil location is a Jao’s exquisite new spa with two new circular treatment rooms that have been finished with impressive saligna-laminated beams, rosewood-clad ceilings and rosewood floors, and are surrounded by tranquil water ponds.
There is a fully-equipped gym and the main pool has a unique nest-like canopy pavilion for dappled shade which is projected out over the floodplain and is a good spot to enjoy the sunset.
