AFEA "invests" in the education of future meetings and travel experts!
May 2019 had been a very “educational” month for AFEA with many presentations at various universities and colleges. AFEA team had the opportunity to present the dynamics of the Meetings Industry in Greece and worldwide to the Department of Tourism Studies of the University of Piraeus and a few days later to present the “Success Story” of AFEA at the Metropolitan College of Athens. The topics discussed and presented focused on the meetings destination of Greece and its capabilities, the international meetings destinations and the ranking of Greece and Athens worldwide.
Additionally, students had the opportunity to learn about the basic stages of the organization of a conference, the important stages of the bidding process for a congress on an international level and the key elements of successful executives working in the field of meetings.
In both cases, the participation of the students exceeded expectations, a fact that fills us with great optimism and enthusiasm about the future of the meetings and travel industry in our country!
Athens proudly hosted the European Society of Cardiology Heart Failure Association Congress in Athens and AFEA supported ESC in this upscale scientific event with more than 5.000 Healthcare Professionals of Cardiology in town!
The World Heart Failure Congress was successfully held in Athens from 25th to 28th May 2019 at the Athens Megaron International Conference Center. The congress was organized by the Heart Failure Association of the European Society of Cardiology and attracted more than 5,000 cardiologists, epidemiologists, general practitioners briefed on all aspects of heart failure, from epidemiology to prevention, diagnosis as well as its prediction.
The conference is one of the top events in the field and enables the scientific community to meet and exchange views on the latest developments in the industry, to attend interesting sessions by at least 300 distinguished speakers. AFEA Travel and Congress Services was the official Housing Agent & Local provider of the conference.
AFEA, ERA & ERASMUS, IAPCO Accredited Members with excellent track records in the organization of international congresses & events, organizers of the IAPCO EDGE Seminar in Athens in 2017, have joined forces once again.
The Hellenic Association of Professional Congress Organisers held its 9th Annual Congress, entitled “SHAPING THE FUTURE”, on the 11th -12th April 2019, in Athens. The Congress Program focused on three streams, which aimed to cover the main issues of the present and future MICE Industry: The MICE Industry in the spotlight - Business to Business, The Human Approach, Innovation & Technology.
The congress was deemed great success with the participation of acclaimed speakers, professionals from the national and international Tourism & Meetings Industry, highly qualified experts as well as prominent academics. IAPCO actively supported the works of the Congress with a training session from Kim Myhre Managing Director of MCI UK and MCI Experience.
