Following on from the enormous success of the inaugural Ironman 70.3 Greece event, at Costa Navarino, in April, organisers have confirmed dates for the second race: April 5, 2020.
The unique event - the first of its kind in Greece - welcomed more than 4,500 athletes, visitors and volunteers, from more than 60 countries, to the Peloponnese earlier this year.
Competitors swam 1.9km in the Ionian Sea, from the golden sands of Navarino Dunes, cycled 90km of paved roads through picturesque villages, ancient olive groves and pine-covered hills, and completed a half-marathon of 21km along pristine beaches and cobblestone paths towards the finishing line at The Romanos, a Luxury Collection resort at Costa Navarino.
The breathtaking scenery and natural beauty of the area provided a spectacular backdrop to the event and a welcome distraction for the competitors from tired bodies and minds.
Registration will be open on May 28 and travel and accommodation packages are available from event organiser EYZHN Greece.
Costa Navarino is renowned for its stunning coastal location. The 2020 Ironman 70.3 Greece will take place at Costa Navarino on April 5, 2020.
