This is a trip of a lifetime where we will explore 4 different parts of Australia. The two very different cities of Sydney and Melbourne, one multi-cultural center of business and expats and the other the art and alternative capital of Australia, filled with creatives, a fun bar scene and perhaps the best coffee in the southern hemisphere.
We will also head into the Outback, where Australia's indigenous culture thrives and the most incredible experiences await.
We can't leave Australia without a healthy dose of Vitamin Sea, so we have planned a full day out at the Great Barrier Reef, a day in Bondi Beach and 2 nights at a fabulous beachfront hotel in Cairns, right next to where Meg lives.
Here are the highlights and some of the photos Meg and I have taken from our trips in Australia:
Sydney's multiculturalism
Australia's expat capital is a melting pot of cultures. We will take our time to learn more about its heritage and the many waves of migration that have infused it with so much cultural richness.
We'll start with a walking tour of the city center to discover the many landmarks (the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge) by the hand of a woman-focused and feminist-led tour guide who will center the story of the city around the women who made it possible.
In the afternoon, we will venture into the thriving neighbourhood of Chinatown to learn more about the South and Far East Asian cultural influence through a walking food tour.
Bondi's beach life

Nothing says Sydney summer like a day out at the beach. We'll walk from Bronte to Bondi along the beach and then spend the day with Bondi's famous lifeguards and at the iconic Icebergs pools.
We will stop for a chat at the Bronte Surf Life Saving Club with female lifesavers who will tell you more about the organization, the challenges and the progress women made in this field.
We will also have lunch with the most iconic views over Bondi at the famous Icebergs, with some time to take a dip if you dare.
Blue Mountains
We'll go on a full day out in the Blue Mountains for great landscapes, nature, waterfalls and hikes in this easy day trip from Sydney. Think quaint rural cafes, great views and time in the forest hiking among nature will be everything you need to complement Sydney's sea and urban feel.
