ISTANBUL - Hitit has celebrated its 25th anniversary with major airline partner executives from more than 20 countries around the world, among them PIA CEO Air Marshal Arshad Malik. During the aviation conference Hitit shared its next generation technology road map and innovative airline solutions, that will be released in the second half of the year. SimpliFlying CEO and the author of SOAR Shashank Nigam made a presentation and shared his views on future developments in the travel and airline sectors, over the next 25 years. Established in 1994 as a local Turkish IT provider, today Hitit is one of the leading providers of airline and travel IT systems. Being one of the top 5 PSS suppliers worldwide Hitit has recently been granted the NDC 4 level by IATA.
Hitit celebrated its silver anniversary by organizing an international aviation conference with its guests from all around the world. Airlines professionals, influencers from the aviation and travel industry, from more than 20 countries gathered in Cappadocia, a place of significant cultural heritage for Turkey.
Hitit introduced its new corporate identity at the conference. Based upon its new creative and innovative aviation technology goals, the renewed logo has been inspired and modernized. It features the symbol of the Hittite Sun, which was one of the most deep-rooted and pioneering civilizations in Anatolia. Hitit’s new tag-line “One Sky. One Partner” refers to its’ partner-centric approach, by working hand-in-hand with its partner airlines. Nevra Onursal Karaagac, Chief Marketing Officer of Hitit, explained: “Under the same sky we share one goal, to enhance the air travel for passengers of the future.”
In her opening remarks Mrs. Onursal Karaagac reviewed Hitit’s development from the loyalty management solution Crane FF software, which became the most widely used loyalty solution in 2012, chosen by 40 airlines including industry giants such as Etihad Airways, Thai and Turkish Airlines. In parallel to the progress of the loyalty management services, Hitit began developing a new software package designed to meet all the operational and sales requirements of an airline.
Crane PAX, the core reservation system, was first utilized by Pegasus Airlines and gained great importance particularly for the Turkish transportation and travel industry, by providing a competitive alternative from the dominating systems developed abroad. Constantly improving with additional products such as internet and mobile sales channels, accounting solutions, and fleet and team planning systems, the Crane software package today is used by 25 international partners on five continents. International partners include Turkey, Tanzania, Nigeria, Angola, France, Germany, Greece, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Egypt, Namibia, Tunisia, Ghana, Jordan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Kazakhstan.
