The Global Editors Network Summit 2019 (GEN Summit) began at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre (SNFCC) on Thursday and will run until Saturday, June 15, ANA reports.
The focus is on the challenges for journalism in the future, the new models of journalism and narration, ways of dealing with fake news, new technologies as well as the role of the social media in journalism.
Over 700 journalists from 80 countries are coming to Athens to participate in the GEN Summit, with some of the journalism's most influential and important names included among the speakers, such as Google News Founder Krishna Barat, Bloomberg Editor-in-Chief John Mickelthwait and Guardian Editor-in-Chief Katharine Viner.
