New Zealand First Deputy Leader and Spokesperson for Tourism Fletcher Tabuteau celebrates the launch of the New Zealand-Aotearoa Government Tourism Strategy at the TRENZ annual tourism trade show.
“Tourism is one of New Zealand’s true success stories, harnessing our unique cultural and natural heritage and showcasing it to the world. We must ensure that this vital industry has long term goals and support in place,” Fletcher Tabuteau said.
The Tourism Strategy sets a work programme to improve co-ordination, establish long-term funding mechanisms, provide better data and insights, and improved destination management and planning.
“Tourism supports the regions and is vital for regions like Rotorua. More collaboration with the sector leads to greater economic outcomes, which translates to more jobs, higher wages, and improved community well-being,” Mr Tabuteau said.
“It was great to be able to attend a busy and motivating TRENZ in Rotorua today. I’d like to thank everyone involved for contributing to a successful launch and I look forward to continue our engagement with them in the future,” Mr Tabuteau said.
