Storm Maya has hit the US resulting in hundreds of flights to be can celled or delayed in the US and another new storm ‘Nadia’ striking the Northwest.
This happened in the wake of a polar vortex and airlines allowed their passengers to change flights free of charge, although UK travel will not be affected. There were no warnings from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in the UK for passengers travelling to the US.
Over the next couple of days Storm Nadia will start from south to the Pacific Northwest bringing rain, flooding and snow in California.
The last part of Wednesday might not have flight cancellations and delays and most flights to the US will fly as scheduled.
According to Flight Aware only 406 flights into and from the US were cancelled yesterday and 200 were delayed. Passengers were asked to check their flight status and follow the airline’s advisory page.
Flight cancellations and delays are not expected to last past Wednesday morning and most flights to the US are going ahead as scheduled.
Passengers are still advised to check their flight status and visit the airline’s advisory page if still concerned.
Flight changes free of charge has been issued by the American Airlines, Jetblue and Hawaiian air.
