Carnival Panorama was launched into the water on December 6, 2018 at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy. Work on the interior of the vessel will now begin.
The floating out was introduced by the traditional coin ceremony, where a silver dollar was welded on the last deck of the ship. Godmother of the ceremony was Antonella Cazzin, an employee of Fincantieri’s shipyard for over 35 years. The ceremony was attended by Senior Vice President of Carnival Cruise Line Ben Clement, Project Manager of Carnival PanoramaMarco Scaramuccia, and Director of the Marghera shipyard for Fincantieri, Antonio Quintano.

The vessel is a Vista class ship, sister to Carnival Vista and Carnival Horizon. At 133,500 tons, the ship will have 2,004 passenger cabins and 770 crew cabins. She will be able to hold over 6,500 people onboard, including staff. Panorama is scheduled to be delivered in fall 2019.
Fincantieri has built 87 cruise ships since 1990, and there are 53 other ships that are currently being designed or built in the company’s yards.
