SEATTLE, WASH. - Travelers looking to explore Canada and New England’s charming and historic ports will have 34 Holland America Line cruises to choose from between April and October 2019. Offering more cruises in the region than any other major cruise line, Holland America Line guests can select from among nine itineraries ranging from seven to 12 days aboard Veendam, Zaandam and Zuiderdam.
Whether cruisers are looking to explore Maine’s Acadia National Park in the breezy summer months or dream of witnessing the incredible display of jewel-toned foliage during the fall, guests will find that a Canada and New England cruise with Holland America Line is perfect in any season.
“Canada and New England used to be known as a fall cruise destination for the foliage, but has become popular in warmer weather as well given all the spectacular features the region has to offer,” said Orlando Ashford, president of Holland America Line. “By providing cruises that span different seasons, our guests have the flexibility to explore Canada and New England at the time of year that allows them to check off everything they want to see and do. Beginning in April, Zaandam, Zuiderdam and Veendam sail a diverse collection of seven-, 10-, 11- and 12-day cruises departing from Boston, Massachusetts; Fort Lauderdale, Florida; New York City, New York; and Montréal and Québec City, Québec, in Canada. The cruises will feature calls at some of the region’s most iconic destinations, including, Canada’s Charlottetown, Sydney and Halifax, as well as Bar Harbor, Maine.
Zaandam Steals the Summer Show
On April 24, 2019, Zaandam kicks off the Canada and New England spring season with a 10-day Atlantic Coast cruise. Departing from Fort Lauderdale, the ship will call at Boston; Bar Harbor; Halifax and Sydney, Nova Scotia; Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island; and Québec City, before concluding in Montréal.

Fall Foliage Cruises Bring Region to Life with Nature’s Colors
Zuiderdam launches the fall season with a 12-day Colors of Canada and New England cruise Sept. 3, 2019. Sailing from Boston to Québec City, the ship will call at the Canadian ports of Sydney; Halifax; Charlottetown; Saint John, New Brunswick; Corner Brook, Newfoundland; Baie-Comeau and Saguenay, Québec; and Portland, Maine. Guests also will enjoy cruising through the Gulf of St. Lawrence and scenic cruising in stunning Saguenay Fjord.

Sailing from Boston to Québec City, the ship will call at the Canadian ports of Sydney; Halifax; Charlottetown; Saint John, New Brunswick; Corner Brook, Newfoundland; Baie-Comeau and Saguenay, Québec; and Portland, Maine. Guests also will enjoy cruising through the Gulf of St. Lawrence and scenic cruising in stunning Saguenay Fjord.
Two similar itineraries are available aboard Zuiderdam Sept. 15 and Sept. 27. Guests on the Sept. 15 voyage will enjoy an overnight at Québec City before heading to Saguenay, Charlottetown, Sydney, Halifax, Saint John, Portland, Boston and finally Newport, Rhode Island, prior to disembarking in New York City. Guests on the Sept. 27 voyage will set sail from New York City, enjoying visits to many of the same ports, as well as additions like Portland and Gloucester, Massachusetts. The cruise will conclude in Québec City where guests will enjoy an overnight stay before disembarking.
In September, guests also can choose from a series of seven-day Canada and New England Discovery cruises sailing between Montréal and Boston aboard Veendam. These itineraries call at Bar Harbor, Halifax, Sydney, Charlottetown, and Québec City, as well as cruising through the Gulf of St. Lawrence and scenic cruising along the Saint Lawrence River.
Throughout the month of October, Zaandam, Zuiderdam and Veendam will each offer one 11-day Atlantic Coast cruise. On Oct. 5, Zaandam departs Montréal and calls at Québec City, Charlottetown, Sydney, Halifax, Bar Harbor, Gloucester and then Port Canaveral, Florida, before concluding at Fort Lauderdale. On Oct. 9, Zuiderdam sails from Québec City and heads for Charlottetown, Sydney, Halifax, Portland, Boston, Newport and New York before guests disembark in Fort Lauderdale. Veendam will depart Montréal Oct.12 and sail to Québec City, Charlottetown, Sydney, Halifax, Bar Harbor, Boston and Port Canaveral, before disembarking in Fort Lauderdale.
Cruise fares for Canada and New England cruises begin at $999. All rates are per person, double occupancy. Several dates are eligible for the Explore4 promotion: Guests booking any category stateroom will receive a Signature Beverage Package valued at $1,200 per stateroom (based on a 12-day cruise), dinner at the Pinnacle Grill for two, free or reduced cruise fares for third and fourth guests in the same stateroom, and 50 percent reduced deposits. Guests receive all benefits when bookings are made by Nov. 19, 2018.
