Seattle — Windstar Cruises has been named “Best Small-Ship Cruise Line” in AFAR magazine’s second annual Travelers’ Choice Awards. The award reflects which cruises the magazine’s audience (arguably some of the most affluent, influential, and well-traveled across all media) want to experience next.
“Egyptian cotton linens and a relaxing whirlpool tub welcome you after a day spent exploring the crystal-clear waters of a Tahitian atoll or hiking along Italian seaside cliffs from Santa Margherita to Portofino,” ravedAFAR editors.
Other categories where Windstar was a finalist included Best Experiential Shore Excursion, Most Unique Itinerary, Best Caribbean Cruise Line, Best Mediterranean Cruise Line, Best Northern Europe Cruise Line, Best Alaska Cruise Line, and Best Tahiti & French Polynesia Cruise Line.
More than 100,000 voters participated in the awards selection this year.
“We are honored to be chosen as a reader’s favorite with AFAR’s discerning audience, particularly in the best small-ship category that represents the core of our business,” stated Windstar President John Delaney. “We pride ourselves on creating personal experiences in intimate, unique settings, for each of our guests. This is what sets Windstar apart and makes us 180 degrees from ordinary. We’re thrilled to be recognized as the best in the industry.”
A complete list of this year’s cruise winners can be found in the November/December issue of the magazine and online here.
