Aberdeen International Airport’s newest food outlet, The Distilling House, has opened its doors to hungry passengers as part of the airport’s multi-million expansion project.

Located within the departures lounge, The Distilling House is a new pub and dining outlet with a difference. Inspired by the local flavours of the region, The Distilling House menu is a fusion of traditional Scottish fayre with American influences as well as classic pub favourites – perfect fuel for any journey ahead.

Aberdeen Airport’s new pub and dining unit is just part of the final phase of the terminal transformation project, with the entire initiative due for completion in autumn 2019.

Yvonne Birch. Head of Retail at Aberdeen International Airport said: “The Distilling House is a fantastic new experience for our passengers to enjoy pre-flight. Its stunning, quirky design, great food and array of local gins and whiskies ensure there is something for everyone.

“There’s still work being carried out in the terminal, so we’ve placed plenty of signage around the terminal to ensure passengers locate The Distilling House via a new staircase, located adjacent to gate 5. It’s an exciting time for the airport and we cannot wait for what comes next.”

Nick Ayerst, Managing Director of TRG Concessions said: “We have been proud partners of Aberdeen International Airport for over a decade and we’ve been delighted to invest and play our part in the latest chapter of the Airport’s story.

“At The Distilling House we will showcase the best Scottish produce and highlight the unique heritage of distilling in Aberdeenshire and the region in a comfortable atmosphere where every passenger is welcome.”

The Distilling House has its own in-house gin, whisky and rum. The gin and rum is distilled at The Nicholas Culpepper pub in Gatwick, which has its own distillery on site. This is transported to The Distilling House and used here in Aberdeen International Airport.
