There will be heightened risk of flooding and disruptions  caused by downpours in the southeastern United States into the end of the week.

From the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico a stream of tropical moisture will be pumped northward across the southern Atlantic Seaboard and into the Northeast.
There will be severe downpours in larger parts of Southeast than the hit-or-miss storms taking place during the summer months.
As per meteorologists the downpours will be slow moving and repeat in the same areas and will cause rainfall.

The rainfall totals for the entire week is expected to be around 2-4 inches but areas with repeated downpours or with storms can be till 6 inches.
Central Gulf states and the eastern Tennessee Valley and Appalachians will have the heaviest rainfall basically the eastern slopes and foothills in the Carolinas and western Virginia.
Southern Appalachians might face mudslides, people with outdoor plans or those in the flood-prone areas should keep themselves updated with the latest flood watches.
There is an advisory for daily commuters to slow down in the downpours because of low visibility and risk of hydroplaning  at highspeedways.
There will be delays and cancellations with stormy pattern for air travellers in and out of the Atlanta and other major hubs.
