In the new year, NOVUM Hospitality is flying high again. Thus, the Hamburg hotel group is expanding to the south-westernmost point of Germany with niu. Together with Toka Immobilien GmbH, NOVUM Hospitality has “put wood behind the arrow” at the turn of the year and is planning a hotel of the young mid-scale brand niu in Grenzach-Wyhlen at “Hornle 62”. The planned niu hotel has 140 rooms and 30 cosy hotel apartments. This brings the number of niu hotels that offer apartments in addition to their smart rooms to nine. In Grenzach-Wyhlen the apartments perfect the range of available accommodation, as Grenzach-Wyhlen lies on the border triangle, very near to the well-known trails to Dinkelberg and a mere stone’s throw from the art city Basel with its laisser-faire attitude – perfect for generation Y to Z, including their parents.
“The nearness to Basel, Switzerland’s most dynamic economic region, is ideal for niu as a young, artistically oriented brand and offers optimal prospects for financial success,” explains David Etmenan, Chief Executive Officer & Owner of NOVUM Hospitality regarding the choice of location.
According to current plans, construction is to start in the second half of 2018 and the niu team will welcome the first guests to a unique living-room atmosphere at the beginning of 2021, as the principle holds true in Grenzach-Wyhlen too: every niu is different, and tells a story inspired by its location through an unconventional design concept.
